LUHV VEGAN DELI

Jess is pictured here with LUHV Food’s new ‘Italian Hoagie’.

We’re not sure we can put into words how much we ‘LUHV’ this place, but we’re definitely going to try! Based in Philadelphia, PA, LUHV Food is a totally vegan business that specializes in plant-based meats, cheeses, and so much more.

We’ve been lucky enough to visit LUHV’s deli counter in Reading Terminal Market on multiple occasions, and we’re always blown away by the quality of the food. Over the years, we’ve managed to work our way through a huge chunk of their menu, so we thought we ought to share our favorites with you:

  • Chickpea ‘tuna’ salad ($9.00 / lb) *
  • Power chili bowl ($6.00)
  • Provolone ‘cheese’ ($8.99 / lb)
  • Italian hoagie ($12.99)

* prices from LUHV Food website; correct as of 05/21/2021

This chickpea ‘tuna’ salad sandwich is probably the most iconic item on the menu.

Aside from the truly fantastic menu, we are huge fans of the philosophy behind the food. LUHV Food was founded on the principle that everyone is capable of changing the world through the foods that we eat. They understand that healthful, vegan food is not accessible to all, so LUHV aims to create wholesome and nutritious food that is affordable to most.

So, what do we really think of LUHV Food? Here’s our honest review.

For quality, we had to give LUHV Food 4/5. We are always blown away by the high standard of the food here, and we make a point to eat here when we’re in the area. We would give them 5/5 in a hurry if their gluten free bread was more reliable!

LUHV Food gets a solid 5/5 for dietary. Their menu is fully labelled to show the gluten free, nut free, and soy free options. We are always impressed by how knowledgable the staff are about dietary requirements, so we couldn’t give them anything less than a perfect score here!
